People of the World
This song was written after I watched a show on MTV
with Bono (singer of U2) and Chris Tucker (the star of rush hour).
They went over to Africa to raise awareness about AIDS and to raise money
for the cause.
The scene that struck me the most took place in a
tent that was supposed to be a hospital for little children with HIV.
When Bono and Chris Tucker entered into this tent there were babies and
small children lying on the ground all around the edge of the tent.
There were no beds for them. They were sick, and infected with HIV.
That show inspired me to write the song People of
the World. The song is a call for us all to reach out and give
what we have to give. The idea is that it can be overwhelming to see a
show like that and feel helpless. The fact is Bono and Chris Tucker did
something about it. They convinced George Bush to give 15 Billion
dollars to Africa for AIDS research.
I did what I could by writing this song. I look
forward to this song being recorded for the new CD.
